This is a 1926 Rolls Royce Model Twenty, chassis number GOK-42 with an all aluminium custom coachwork by the H. J. Mulliner & Co. Ltd. Bedford Park Works, Chiswick, London. This car is too nice to scrap. I bought it for spare parts for my '28 Rolls convertible, which is now sold. So, what to do??? The body work is nearly finished. The motor has been cranked over and is quite free. But, even with the plugs in, it cranks with no noticeable compression. So it needs rings and a valve job at least. Everything under the hood is complete except the voltage regulator cover is missing.
Does any Rolls Royce afficianado out there want a wonderful project? It is mostly all there, we will be adding pictures of the seats and interior. The only way to justify a project like this is to do most of the work yourself and charge it off to therapy. Most everything needs to taken apart , cleaned, lubed, painted, and reassembled. If you think this car needs to be restored and are willing to take on the job, give me a call. Otherwise, I am going to street rod the car. It should make quite a rod, chopped, channled and rodded! All of the present chassis components will be available to other Model Twentys as a complete package, or on an organ donor program. You tell me what you need.
$10,000.00 for the complete car.
$5,000.00 for the running gear which includes engine, transmission, rearend, front end, steering gear and wheel, 3 good wheels with hubs, 2 bad wheels with hubs. Engine parts include, head, valves, rocker arm assembly, valve cover, pushrods, adjusters, water pump, distributor, magneto, generator, starter, associated drives, carburetor, autovac fuel pump and manifolds. The only parts known to be missing are the voltage regulator cover and the distributor rotor.
Here is the cover
car on the August Flying Lady, which is similar to this car
The car is in Winfield, Kansas
